Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a hair removal procedure to weaken the growth and permanently reduce hair growth.  A consultation is required.

What is it?

Electrolysis is a technique using shortwave diathermy to remove unwanted hair. It weakens the growth and gives permanent results.

Who can have it?

This is affective for all skin types and hair colour, usually recommended for all facial areas.

Does it hurt?

A fine needle is inserted into an open hair follicle. (No piercing of the skin) A mild electric current called wave diathermy is passed into the hair root and this can be felt as heat, some areas of the face may be more sensitive than others.

How often will I need it?

Regular treatments are recommended to treat the hairs in the active stage of growth, this is when the hairs are actively growing. This is the most effective time to remove the hairs to give permanent results. Weekly treatments may be required.

Why am I getting them?

The results are determined by the cause of the hair growth, how long they’ve been there and what you’ve been doing in the meantime. This will be discussed during the consultation.

After-care advice

After the procedure the area should be kept clean and free from any products other than mild antiseptic cream, the skin may be a little pink due to it being a heat treatment and should return to normal after a few hours.

Electrolysis consultation

Prior to an electrolysis procedure a consultation is required. It is possible that a procedure can be carried out on the same day. A consultation form will be filled in and the procedure will be explained and expectations of the results will be discussed.

Laser Hair Removal

What is it?

Our infinity diode laser is a powerful laser which heats the hair follicle starving it’s of oxygen and reduces hair growth.

How often?

Course of treatment is recommended one treatment every six weeks. A course of a treatment is recommended.

What to expect during procedure?

The hair should be shaved prior to the procedure. You wear a pair of specially designed goggles to protect your eyes, optical gel will be applied and we will work over the skin in patches with the laser.

Do I need to prepare for the treatment?

It’s important that the area to be treated has had no exposure to the Sun for at least 14 days. No self tanning creams lotions applied at least one week prior to the procedure. No waxing for at least two weeks prior to the treatment. No photosensitising medication

I heat sensation, maybe experienced.

What to expect after?

We were flat and aloe gel in and in areas of exposure to sun or daylight, we will apply SPF. We ask you to avoid sun exposure for at least 14 days and wear SPF in cases of exposure to the Sun. The hair can be shaved in between treatments but not wax or remove from the hair follicles
